OPAL a none profit organization is Oman only oil and gas forum, with 300 members made up of companies serving the oil and gas industry, oil and gas producers, operators, contractors and suppliers both large and small.  
 
OPAL provides a single umbrella body to agree and promote standards of work competence and professionalism, with the vision of raising the standards of Omani petroleum industry to become world class internationally competitive, and optimize industries resources.  
 
OPAL is the foremost facilitating body aligning stakeholders objectives be it the government, the client, the contractor, or the workforce or even moderate, arbitrate, and tackle common challenges for the benefits of its members. . 

OPAL Vision:
To have in Oman, an acknowledged world class oil and gas industry which operates to highest standards with no harm to people, environment or assets.

OPAL Mission:
1. Disseminating relevant information as quickly and effectively as possible.
2. Identifying training needs for new entrants to the industry, and facilitating training in all required skills areas.
3. Recognising and enhancing individual competencies.
4. Improving general business efficiency through seminars and training programmes.
5. Identifying relevant legislation and providing guidance to members: resolving issues that directly impact upon our members.
6. Improving internal business processes through securing ISO accreditation thus better to serve our members.
7. Improving the speed and quality of OPAL decision-making through empowering and energising staff.
8. Ensuring that those contractors and sub-contractors who work in the industry are subjected to the same operating standards as the multi-national producers.
9. Supporting and encouraging SME entrants to the industry, specifically working for the Local Community contractors in their re-structuring.

10. Promoting QHSSE awareness and disseminating key learning points.
